Asphalt Patching and Repair
Over time, asphalt can deteriorate due to regular wear and tear, weather conditions, or heavy traffic. Cracks can form, and if left unchecked, can widen and cause erosion and deterioration.
Among the options for repair are saw-cutting and removal with new asphalt laid back in, or milling the top layer, laying down a layer of sticky tack oil, and patching back in new asphalt.
Asphalt Overlay
Well installed and maintained asphalt surfaces can last many years. However, at some point it may make sense to install new asphalt over the existing surface to give it new life. This option is generally much cheaper than removing and replacing the existing asphalt. A first leveling course is usually installed to fill potholes or fix lingering drainage issues, followed by the installation of a 2” overlay of new asphalt.
